Alliances are grounded on reasons. In this case the reason is survival. Israel is everybody's enemy in the Middle East and beyond, so countries have to defend themselves against the new invader. Religion certainly links these countries, but it is survival that matters. The worst thing that could happen to Muslim countries is to face Israel one by one. Iran should try at all costs to establish the same kind of link they maintain now with Syria with other countries in the area (Turkey, Egypt, etc.

As long as the two countries maintain their present governments the relationship between them will be strong. However, if their is a change in governments for any reason the relationship could change drastically. Syria needs to be involved in the Middle East in all aspects. It is historically a very important area. Iran on the other hand is just trying to stir up trouble among its neighbors to allow it to be more important.

United states and Israel always wanted to abolish historical ties between Syria and Iran.It is the real threat to Israeli future and American interest in the region.Many attempts to destroy Syrian-Iranian relations have been failed, but the task is not yet finished and the conspiracies are going on.No body can imagine Syrian ties with Iran to be broken while Golan Hights are still under Israeli occupation.It is more wise for Israelis to achieve peace with Syria rather than trying to Isolate her.
