Based on the causatives of earthquakes, we can classify them in to three categories: the first and the most frequent earthquakes are what we call them tectonic earthquakes. These tectonic earthquakes are caused by the earth plate motion in general, as we know up to now there are three kind of plate motions, the strike slip plate motion such as the Dead Sea Transform, the San Andreas and the Both Anatolian fault systems (North and East Anatolian Faults), strike slip actions usually release earthquakes of magnitudes that varied between M <= 1 to M >= 7.5 along the friction zone between two plates. The second type of motion is the divergent plate motion such as the Mid Atlantic Ridge and the Red Sea spreading forces along the Mid Read Sea that cause spreading between Arabia and Africa. Motion along the spreading zone usually characterized by moderate seismicity and release lower magnitude earthquakes. The third type of plate motion is the convergent plate motion where two plates collide and as a results of this collision we can expect earthquakes of magnitude that exceeds 9 on Richter scale. Such plate action present every where all over the globe and responsible of what had happened in Banda Aceh - Sumatra (Indonesia) in December, 26, 2004. Tectonic earthquakes represent more than 80% of earthquakes that shook the earth each year along collision zones where we can expect major and catastrophic ones. All three types of plate motion are present in the Middle East. The second type of earthquakes based on their causes, is the volcanic earthquakes. Volcanic earthquakes usually occurs prior to the volcanic eruptions, these seismicity usually started with lower magnitude earthquakes, increased in magnitudes gradually to reach the maximum magnitude at the moment of eruptions. As a result of Krakatau Volcano explosion in 1883, most of the island Krakatau disappeared. On the other hand deep under ground magma motion can cause lower magnitude swarm seismicity, such seismicity based on deep magma motion was responsible for the earthquake swarms occurred in the Al Odein in Yemen by the end of 1991 and remains for one year later and also in Saudi Arabia in 2009 close to Medina. The third type of seismicity or earthquakes based on their causes is the induced seismicity that directly referred to human activity, such as the daily mining explosions, nuclear tests and man made dams. Accumulating large amount of water behind any dam can cause earthquake activity along all capable faults existed around the dam itself. Such earthquakes based on the water load on ground structures in the wide area around the body of the dam cause a release of earthquake of magnitude equal to 5.5 in Aswan – Egypt and a magnitude of nearly 6 on Richter scale in Philippine. By the end of my contribution in this matter I don't believe that the humanity can locate stresses accumulated along any faults any where in the world due to the very recent GPS technology and the lack of this technology in exact determining of geographical locations although it can gave an indication of plates stuck in general. The amount of damages in Haiti as a result of the January 12, 2010 earthquake can be summarized in the following factors. 1. Large magnitude (M=&.3) 2. Shallow depth earthquake, the focus found located at 8 km. 3. Very poor structures. 4. Local soil. 5. Eruption of fires. 6. High dense of population. 7. Absence of seismic hazards and risk mitigation culture in the country. 8. Absence of communication between seismologists and decision makers and politicians in the country. 9. As well as the poverty of the country.

Natural disasters occur regularly. China was hit hard by earthquakes. Turkey and Iran were also hit. San Fransisco was destroyed in 1906 and 1936 respectively as as result of earthquakes. Haiti is no exception. Whilst dismissing conspiracy theories, I would say. Israel has played a critical role in the rescue operation. It was a PR success. A master's storke which helped to restore its tarnished image in the wake of the Goldstone's Report. The Arabs' absence was conspicuous. An Arab failure.

It is obvious that we can only hypothesize about it, but there are facts that makes us wonder. 1) The Caraibe has never been a land of earthquakes; what we have there are storms; 2) Nothing happened in the neighbour country, although they share the same liitle island; 3) this kind of experiments are not new (in the Soviet Union rivers were made to flow in the reverse sense); 4) Why did this happen in a country which practically lacks institutions; 5) Why did the USA invade the island?
