Yes crisis, but bit is due to lack of knowledge of economic control. Real estate is not the reproductive investment if yes than only for a few but not for GDP. It should have been more better if king should have emphasised on industrial development & liberalisation so to make country more wealthy for generations together. Buying one HEN is better than a LION to raise economic development and financial health of the country as whole.

the whole crises is like the tsonamee shockwaves and will carry on for a couple of years but the most important thing is that the whole crises in the world is a carefuly planned crises in order to creat a new world order ( financialy economicaly and politicaly ) the features and aspects of this new world order we shall see in the nest 10 years

11- Hassan Baras

Banking field  (United Arab Emirates)

What crisis? There is no financila crisis in Dubai. If 2 subsidiaries of Dubai world group are to re-structure their liabilities for a mere 6 months period, that is not a crisis at all. It is a normal practice all over the world and one wonders why this fuss is all about and who is behind it.

Dubai financial crisis is an example for the short term investment studies, so unexpected sudden fall apears... i want to say wat is the use of putting all eggs in towers and so. no real investment done....ithink it will not affect a lot in other gulf states, but it will be a hard lesson...and will recover in one year...

building the “tallest building” Dubai could have built the best medical center and facilities in the world, could have built the best “aquarium” in the world rather than “undersea hotel”, could have built the best university in the world attracting talents, skills, intellect

8- Sami Jamil Jadallah

International Consultant  (United States)

No one can deny the visionary leadership of Sheik Mohamed Bin Rachid. I remember few years ago reading an interview with Sheik Mohamed in a Kuwait paper some 30 years ago, when he promised to make Dubai a tourist attraction. He did. However I think what was and is missing in the master plan is “human capital development” where the investment goes toward developing capacity of the population making them productive not consumption. Dubai did some very smart development such as its airport, its duty free shops, it airlines, its hotels, its convention center, its Media City, ports management portfolio among others. Where Dubai went wrong was its emphasis on development of “concrete jungle” as the engine of development. Cold concrete could never succeed in moving nations forward. Rather than building the “tallest building” Dubai could have built the best medical center and facilities in the world, could have built the best “aquarium” in the world rather than “undersea hotel”, could have built the best university in the world attracting talents, skills, intellect, brains rather boobs. People build wealth not concrete. Dubai will remain a leader in the Gulf. Don’t write it off.

The Dobai financial crisis is an extention of the world economic and financial crises. Dubai went too deep in creating a complex infrastructure which was ment to be for the rich people. With the actual world economic and financial crises, the luxury life contracted and rarely manifested everywhere in the globe. However, If world economy recovers , Dubai will return to her economic health. But if the world economy did not recover or deteriorated further, then Dubai will remain suffering !

What happened in Dubai is part of the global economic crisis which has spared the largest countries like America and there are several reasons I expect to be one of the reasons the problem in Dubai, the economic expansion in the field of real estate as well as the influence of foreign economic activities and large foreign advisors and who have considerable influence in setting priorities and economic needs and Dubai, an Arab country, a reliable all Arabs remain an economic giant that is strong and we hope to recover quickly and I expect that Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the UAE's rulers are able to take all means to overcome the crisis.

5- mohamad khatib

researcher  (Canada)

the reason that led to the financial crisis in Dubai is that they had fake booming and too many offices for too little productions and business. They should establish a real industry and productions business then they will have real growing up and stablity, like turkey and malaysia.

4- khalil Adwairi

Economic consultant  (Saudi Arabia)

Of the causes of the crisis: (1) Vision corrupt, it is not all that glitters is gold. (2) the empty ambition and a well suspended, and palace constructed. (3) abandon the Arab depth and the loss of its Arab identity. United Arab Emirates where the Arabs and does not constitute more than 14%!!! Weird UAE in their homeland, wandering among the colonies closed their cars here and there and is only a settler colonies of foreigners, a few years before the Indians came out in marches want to represent

because dubai always say we are the best we are in the top they want to the be the fist in every thing but this way of thinking has bad side that they not thought about side effect for looking allways forward without checking the ability for them and capacity for all these projucts and where its take them

2- walid shishani

The best investment is in developing the human, this human who is developing every thing in this life. The Governer of Dubai never thought at this way , same like all Arab governers. therefor no wonder, what happend is very normal results for such negative thoughts, they have to start again and understand this time what the HUMAN means.

I think when we want to talking about the financial crisis in Dubai we shouldn’t forget that , there’s a relations between Dubai and world , Lately , an investment currents was coming up in everywhere and most of corporations in whole the world signature agreements to create their Business in Dubai , so they were using local banks for facilities their business and an offers was given from these banks to make it easier . no wonder ! to see those investors to recanted their bank accounts , and I think in this point , the financial crisis in Dubai has begun
