New president for the European Military Commission

The Swedish General Hakan Seiran took office in Brussels on November 6, 2009 as the new Military Commission of the European Union and the successor to General Henri Pentgat.
The Military Committee of the European Union based in Brussels is considered a temporary chief of staff for the defense project of the European Union, and coordinates the movement of the Union in the area of peacekeeping and crisis management.
The General Hakan Seiran (57 years) worked among the Swedish Navy before he oversees the Swedish security service, and finally chief of staff of the armed forces in Sweden.
